Monday 28 September 2026 – Free Open Meeting with Commissioner for the Tenant Farming Sector in Cornwall

Alan Laidlaw, Commissioner for the Tenant Farming Sector will visit The Pavillion at the Royal Cornwall Showground, on Monday 28 September. Doors open at 6:30pm and the meeting will start at 7pm prompt.  The purpose of the meeting is to speak directly with as many tenant farmers from across the South West as possible, so that they are aware of how his office could assist them.  The meeting offers a rare opportunity to share experiences openly and ensure that the Commissioner hears the realities of life (good and bad) in the tenanted sector across the region.

Alan said:

‘I am looking forward to visiting Cornwall at the end of September and meeting local farmers and organisations connected to the tenant farming sector. This is a brilliant opportunity for me and my office to hear about the opportunities and challenges facing the region from those whose knowledge and experience are so important in shaping a thriving rural economy in the region.’

The event is delivered in association with DEFRA. Advanced booking is essential due to limited capacity at the event. Tea and coffee will be available during the event.  Secure your place at the evening event here.
