The Tenant Farmers Association (TFA) has welcomed the reappointment of Julian Sayers as Co-Chair of the Farm Tenancy Forum in England for a further three-year term, commencing on 17 September 2026.

The TFA believes that the decision provides valuable continuity for the Forum at an important time for the farm tenancy sector. Since its establishment following the Rock Review, the Forum has provided a direct channel through which tenant farmers, landlords, professional advisers and government can address the unique challenges facing the sector and help shape policy. Julian Sayers has brought extensive knowledge, experience and steady leadership to that work to date.

The TFA is keen that the Forum should now build on the progress it has already made. Over the next three years it must be effective in holding government policy to account through focused tenant-proofing, promote fair and collaborative conduct across the sector, encourage longer and more sustainable tenancy agreements, and ensure that tenant farmers can participate fully in public and private environmental schemes and initiatives. The Forum should also continue to have an important role in supporting and scrutinising the work of the Commissioner for the Tenant Farming Sector.
