Over recent days, the TFA is grateful to two Parliamentarians for raising issues for tenant farmers in Parliament. The first was Sir Gavin Williamson, the Conservative MP for Stone, Great Wyrley and Penkridge, who in the House of Commons, asked the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs about the merits of increasing the length of short-term Farm Business Tenancies beyond two years. The second was Baroness Kate Rock who intervened in a short debate in the House of Lords on the forthcoming Farming Roadmap, to highlight the need for DEFRA to properly take into consideration the implications for tenant farmers when drawing up the Roadmap.
