RPA Offers Solutions Where Extreme Weather Impacts SFI Compliance
Unprecedented rainfall across England has created challenges for farmers participating in the Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) scheme. Many are finding it difficult to meet their agreement terms due to waterlogged fields and delayed operations. In response, the Rural Payments Agency (RPA) has announced a more flexible approach for those affected by extreme weather conditions. Farmers unable to comply with their SFI agreements are urged to report their circumstances promptly. The RPA will review each case individually, considering potential adjustments to agreements or payments. TFA members can access detailed guidance on navigating these challenges and communicating effectively with the RPA. To read this guidance, click here to access a TFA members exclusive blog.
